Paul has more than 30 years’ experience in the traffic technology industry throughout the UK. He has worked as client, consultant and contractor in the motorway, urban/local authority, public transport and connected vehicle realms. Recently Paul worked closely with Transport Scotland to help the organization produce its Future Intelligent Transport Systems Strategy. He is currently helping several local authorities plan for a future of connected, autonomous, electric/low-carbon vehicles.Presentation
Reality check – where might connected and autonomous and electric vehicles be in the next decade?
2017 saw auto manufacturers hyping that they would produce Level 5 cars by 2021. Yet today, despite some of the technology being proven, autonomous vehicles sit right at the bottom of Gartner’s ‘Trough of Disillusionment’. To produce more pragmatic and tangible predictions for CAVs, EVs and associated infrastructure in the next decade, what should we be considering?
